It's time to hire.
Third Base is growing. Fast. With Nico's help, Mila built something good. But running a shop isn't just about the clothes and trinkets; it's about the people.
We'll be interviewing potential employees, making tough calls, and rolling the dice (literally) on who gets a spot on the team. Your choices determine the future of the shop. Will you hire the seasoned pro? The wildcard with potential? A total dud?
step 1: party selection
Before the interviews begin, Nico and Mila can choose 2-3 roles the shop needs. Everyone works the floor, but what's their specialty? Here are your choices. Each of these roles are clickable; you can browse the candidates before choosing to interview.
Stock Manager / Inventory Coordinator
The human archive. The stockroom sage. Master of what's (literally) in and out. Keeps Third Base's shelves (and online shop) stocked, handles shipping and packing like a pro. The ideal candidate has a soft spot for packing peanuts and label makers.
key skills: Organization, reliability.
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
This person gets the vibe, and knows how to make a moment into a moment. They'll be crafting content, promoting events on socials, helping with product photography and e-commerce. They're the key to keeping Third Base's a stylish spot on the timeline.
E-COMMERCE MANAGER
The bridge between the IRL store and the digital world. Answers online customer service inquiries, snaps killer product photos, performs regular website maintenance, and always keeps the online calendar updated. Tech savvy vintage lovers? This one's for you. (more below!)
POP-UP & EVENT COORDINATOR
This person keeps the pop-up spirit of Second Base alive, bringing Third Base to markets, events, and wherever the vintage-hunting crowd gathers. They also network within the community and work with Mila, Nico, and Ruth to plan events at the shop. A perfect fit if the thrill of a good set-up and strike-down is irresistible.
TAILORING & REPAIR MANAGER
A magician with a needle and thread, a wizard of wood filler. Fixer of things, a believer in second chances for hems that need love or clocks that need rewinding; they're the one making sure the shop's inventory looks its very best.
step 2: interviews
After choosing the candidates, it's time to interview. You'll roll a d20 to test their:
Experience & Knowledge Does this person have the right background for the role?
Problem Solving & Adapability How will they handle unexpected challenges and pressure?
Culture Fit/Team Compatibility
How will they vibe with Mila and Nico? (More importantly, does Butt like them?)
Work Ethic & Perofmance
Is this person a flake, or an overachiever?
Special Skills & Hidden Traits
Do they have a cool bonus ability or a potential red flag?

let's roll one!
Here's an example of how it'll work.
After selecting your candidate from the list of list of archetypes, you can start the interview process.
Let's assume Mila & Nico want to hire a Popup & Events Coordinator, and select Jordy Nguyen from their available choices. I won't build in an answer for every candidate (at some point, I'm going to have to stop fucking around with html and Java and actually write.
First, roll for skillset category.
Next, roll for an interview question.
Finally, roll the D20 to determine Jordy's answer.
